Hmm I got crossfire 6970s wonder if will work in my hakintosh.
Nop... CrossFireX support is disabled. Only single GPU solutions work. So if you want the best go with the HD6970...

2x CPUs 130W rated. So thats 260W, right there. However, no CPU consumes the rated, so it's give or take ~260W.
The cpus used in the dual-cpu MP are 80-95W parts (top is the 95W Xeon X5670 right now), so it's give or take ~190W.
Only the single cpu MP uses a 130W part (Xeon W3500/3600 series).
So it's either 130W, 160W or 190W for the cpus in a MP.

Here's a brilliant idea... only people who have actually gone through the trademark process should continue to comment.
Having been through it twice, I can tell you that it's not a walk in the park.
There is nothing cut and dry about any of it.
Your success depends just as much on your prep work as it does on the examining lawyer from the USPTO side.
Fortunately we had a great lawyer working with us from the USPTO.
I got one approved for my wife's company name, and lost the other trademark application for of all things, being descriptive.
We knew the second was a long shot, but had to try.
Having been through it twice, I can tell you that it's not a walk in the park.

I wish whoever posted this would get it straight - Microsoft is coming out with zune to compete with iPod. They are the one with the new product that will inevitably suck.
I don't understand why this post says that Apple is coming out with wireless capabilities to compete with zune - if nobody has wireless out yet, then there is not much a competition. And it certainly isn't Apple hoping to be the ones to catch up.
The post says apple is going to compete with Zune because everyone knows almost everything about zune, with the exception of having a physical zune apple can at least stay on top by brining in inovative features before zune has them.

I'm hoping for a MPB with: Core 2 Duo up to 2.33 Ghz - Flash boot (NAND memory) - better GPU, ATI launched her x1800 mobile GPU march 2006 - 802.11n - more ram capacity - firewire 800 and faster super drive.
But Im afread I have to wait untill january for this master piece of mobile technology. :(

Apart from the obvious (sandy bridge and thunderbolt) what I would like to see is an SSD solution like in the MBA, say about 64GB is probably enough to store the OS and applications, with a 1TB HDD as the base configuration.
That would give the speed boost to the OS and app launching and operations, without the space problems of a bolt-in SSD, and would leave the cheap, easily upgradable storage for.....storage.

I will be surprised if the Solo continues. Duo across the line, even C2D, would be a nice milestone and there shouldn't be a lot of money difference.
Also, let's not forget that Solos are Duos that have one core disabled. As Intel's yields have improved have improved over time (I would guess), I suspect that the need to sell Solos to recoup losses would be reduced...
The big guessing game will be when the speed bump occurs: now, on 12 September or on 25 September (Photokina)...

Geez, everyone looks over the simplest and most obvious interpretation to speculate on services that no one has seen proof for. Wimax and all this other stuff is reaching...why are you trying so hard? The MacBook Air is called such because, anyone? Bueller? Bueller?, it is so thin and light. Get it? There's something in the air...the new product? All this is reading way too much into it. I've seen stuff from analyzing the typeface to find the hidden meaning to Apple changing its logo (what??) to Wimax service built in <insert product here> to...you get the picture. Stop reading too much into it.

You're (very probably) right. My comments were aimed at those who were saying the Classic is overkill because who could ever "need" anything more than 128 or even 256 kbps AAC's or mp3's. (Nobody even mentioned 320, at which many of my fave songs are ripped.)....

I was one of the people convinced by the propaganda that led to the DVD Audio and SACD fiasco. I have since done a lot more reading and am convinced by the math that CDs are about as good as there is any reason for them to be, human hearing being what it is. (I always thought increasing the sampling rate was stupid.)
As far as Apple Lossless and other codecs of the same type�if they can compress video signals losslessly to 2% of their original size for DVDs, why should I doubt you can compress music to 40 or 50%? The thing about going below that is, maybe at first listen, the difference doesn't leap out at you�but maybe it would with extended exposure, and with better equipment than you're using right now. What you're assuming is that you're never going to have better equipment, and that "small" differences in quality are inconsequential.
My problem with that is that then you've been set up for the next decrease in quality, and the one after that, and the one after that. Eventually you're buying 128,000 bps tracks and making fun of "audiophiles" who can tell the difference, and then one of the true triumphs of 20th Century technology�really good audio reproduction�is lost.
Video that can't be told from the real thing is never going to happen in my lifetime, but with sound we were there�and then threw it away!

I'm thinking this too. I thnk the rumours of a new nano enclosure may also be the iphone. I guess we'll see but as Chundles points out this isn't the most reliable source of info (Digitimes).

I recall paying the same price for mine as the Mac Pro currently costs. Sheesh! Stupid me. I should've put that money into Apple stock! If I had put the $7k I blew on my Dual 800/22" into Apple shares I could afford a Ferrari right now :(

hopefully this 23 inch one adds something more than just a bigger screen....such as component RGB input which would allow me to hook my my xbox 360 to play. that would RULE.

You can already play your Xbox 360 on your iMac, just not in high def. Buy an EyeTV TV adapter that has the game mode, and you can play that way. The best input available on there is an Svideo connection, so you want get HD, but it's still a pretty crisp picture.

I mean absolutely no disrespect in any of my arguments...Same hear. I just find it interesting that you seem to be ignoring the fact that 1 year ago you were willing to pay an approximately $100 markup for SWOP certification, yet you find it completely reasonable for Apple to essentially be charging $300 for it today? I'm about the biggest fan of Apple of anyone but their prices are out of touch on their 20" displays.
