ICICI is worst when it comes to exchange rates:
I have used many transfer services in past years so far and these are worth mentioning.
In Order of exchange rates:
-SBI Online (Now simple to register too and very nice one)
-Remit2India (has specials, but careful they don't fullfill it)
-HDFC (Internally uses same service of remit2India)
-CityBank
-ICICI
-Western Union
Remember all of them ask for SSN nowadays and having SSN on some unreliable site databases may be little risky.

What was the reason behind the RFE?
I recieved a weired email update from USCIS about the I-140 after RFE documents recived, waited for two days then call the customer service # and the status on the phone said that USCIS denied the case.
here is the case history.
LC-Feb-2005.
I-140 filled march 2007
I-485/EAD filled July-2007
EAD approved/EAD card arrived 15 Sep 2007
I-140 RFE August 2007(A2P)
I-140 denied 27th Sep 2007.
my question is,
what are the options do I have?
my employer is talking about appeal.
since the original I-140 is denied will the 485/EAD will get cancelled too?
is there any way to port the LC date?
what are the chances of appeal/approval?
employer is in good standing(financially).
any suggestions,input will be highly appreciated.

I though such contracts are illegal in US?....It is employment at will.....that means they can kick you out anytime or you can leave anytime....maybe someone can clarify

All depends the terms and wordings of the "Employment agreement". For example, if one is sent for 2 weeks training in, say, .Net 2.0 Technology and its cost is $8000, then agreement could have clause for paying back $8000 to employer if left employment within one year.
There are, of course, other things involved and it is a complex subject. In short, Employment Agreement given enough ammunitions for employer to file at least a civil suit against employee.
Please consult a good lawyer before signing any such contract.

With due respect to Prashanthi, I don't think the OP aged out of his I-485. Since his parent submitted their and his I-485 in 2007 (that is before he turned 21), his application is protected under CSPA. In fact with respect to EB, once the I-485 is submitted and then the PD retrogresses, the child's age is locked in and the application will be approved whenever the PD becomes current again.

Visa Availability Date Regression
If a visa availability date regresses, and an alien has already filed a Form I-485 based on an approved Form I-130 or Form I-140, the Service should retain the Form I-485 and note the visa availability date at the time the Form I-485 was filed. I was in the same boat as many others here i.e, no FP notice even 1yr after filing for 485. With my PD becoming current in Aug 2008, I called my attorney to see if he can do anything to help me out. He told me that due to several complaints from people like us and a law suit threat (or an actual lawsuit, not sure) from AILA, the Texas center has sent has set up an exclusive fax line for such requests. This system came into existence only about 2-3 weeks ago.
He sent a fax on my behalf to that number last Tuesday 7/15/08. My wife and I both received FP notices on Sat 7/19/08! So looks like for a change, something that�s set up for our own good is actually working. Frankly, I hadn�t pinned any hopes on the fax having a positive impact but I was pleasantly surprised. Our appointments are for next week.
Hope this little tip will help others in the same boat if their attorneys are either not aware and/or haven�t told their clients about it.

Same thing happened to me. I had posted it last week. My VSC approved 140 got transferred to TSC last week and today got email that the case is now pending. 485 was orignally filed at VSC that got transfered to TSC in March 2007.

Trying to find the method in USCIS madness - has this happened to anyone else also and any reason why they might suddenly have decided to do this?
One reason I can think of is my 485s are in NE so maybe they are trying to consolidate all information in one file??

She has a H1b approved for 3 years to start working on October 1, 2007.
Now, she gets a EAD (though my I-485) to start working on September 1, 2007 valid for 1 year only.
She has a job and the company would like her join asap.
Questions are:
1. Will her EAD (I-485 pending) cancel her H1B approval for the company?
2. Can she work only Sept 1 - Spet-30 on EAD and then fall-back on her H1B (Oct 1 - later) for next 3 years?
We know that H1b is approved and all set for 3 years but Green-Card-EAD is only valid for 1 yr only and sometimes renwal takes time and $$ and bit riskly. So we cant decide if we should stick to her alreay approved H1b or fall back on EAD.
Please advise folks.

who gets the receipt notice when using G-28.
#1. Lawyer Alone
#2. Applicant Alone
#3. Both lawyer & the applicant.

You will only get the EAD approval(actual card), everything else you are at the lawyer's mercy.

We are very happy with the news..
There is lot of possibility for us to be in India during due date, based on few important events in family.
We would like to know.. if baby is born in India then what possibilities are there for us to bring baby along with us?
(if mother stays in India for couple of more months)
can baby also get Green Card when we (parents) are allotted green card?

You can start working for Employer C as and when you have the receipt notice for C's transfer. Just make sure, you file for transfer before termination. You have all the documents that is required for H1 transfer, dont worry about it.
