Dear All,
I just received a FP notice for my wife scheduled for Sep 19, 2007. I have not received mine yet (I am the primary applicant), I have a few questions regarding this. Please help me if you have any information.
1. Is it normal for the primary applicant to not receive FP notice at the same time as dependent?
2. Can my wife get it done without me getting an FP notice?
3. Can I get my FP done on the same day as my wife even though I did not receive my FP notice?
4. I have filed for I-485, EAD and AP, will we both receive an FP notice for all 3 applications or it is just one FP for all applications?
Please help us with your expertise. Thank you very much for all your time.

Can someone confirm if finger printing required for both paper (by mail) and on-line AP application? Somewhere I read that finger printing is required only for on-line applicants. Is that true?
It will save me lot of trouble as my nearest INS office for finger printing is about 150 miles away.

Don't miss this ship, get ur medical done in India and file ASAP i m not sure if u go for Consular Processing do u need to here or not. Its only filing 485 u need to be here. Check with ur attorney ....

PIO card is valid for 15 years and no need to apply for visa every time you go. You just present it with the passport when entering/departing in India. it takes about 20 days to get it they say 15 working days which is about 3 weeks. if you do in person they will check all documents and let you know if there is some thing wrong so you can correct it and submit it and no issues when issuing. they give you date to pick up or even you can ask them to mail back for 15$. i would say get poi if you have time and also if you are local do pio if you are not getting it by the time of travel you can always go and get visa the same day. http://www.cgisf.org/ is the sfo counslate website can get all the infor and download application there. even you can email them they are very prompt in replying you will get a reply the next day if you have any questions

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?
Please share your experiences.

I went to Ottawa, Canada in January for visa stamping. I got Visa done.
On that day, I had seen most of the people attended for stamping are indians. Everyone was given visa.
Stamping is pretty easy at Ottawa. They dont ask you much questions. If one has all the required documents for visa stamping, its very easy to get stamping at ottawa.

I'll try that tactic on the others, see if it reduces them any more. Like I said, I've never really had to use Fireworks much before, so I've still got no idea of the best way to go about things, and all the little tricks you can do. :-\

yes, you can. I did it last summer. the first officer at the border did not know the rule and said we could not enter, then an older officer came and said we could. they let us in with expired visa but approved h-1b extension notice
Thank you very much. do you know suppose if we go for stamping our visa and for some reason they reject it, can we still enter USA? I am just trying to evaluate different options and the risks in each of them so that we can choose the best that works for us....

Summer travel season is around the corner, and unfortunately, because of the swine flu scare, each and every person entering India from USA (and some other countries) will have to go through a medical screening (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/American--European-visitors-to-be-screened-for-swine-flu/articleshow/4457075.cms) at the airports beginning yesterday. Some chaos is expected, particularly in busy terminals such as Delhi and Mumbai, given that "Airport authorities said they are still in the dark and are yet to gear up for these checks". So, it may be a good idea if those of you, who have just returned from India, share your experiences with this procedure; for example, the likelihood of facing stricter screening (or even a brief quarantine) if someone sneezes/coughs for any reason, or the "fitness certificate" forms that airlines are supposed to hand over to each passenger, etc.

I am thinking of switching the company and look for new job. I am not sure how this will work when I am on EAD and not expecting my GC to come soon as my priority date (EB3) is March 2005.
Possibly the new job will not be 100% aligned with the job desc that was put during the LC.
Do any one can help me guide what are my options?

They have hijacked all the research which I could have done. If we don't allow them to do research, then I will get a chance to do it in few years. Writing Unix/Linux tutorials is not going to help much. I need my job security. Hence I had to work for this job. It's secure and easy for me to keep doing it.
Journalist B: Ok, we understand. This is similar to blaming others for your own problems. It is convenient and easy. But, why do you think that entire G-1b visa program is bad? If there are any bad apples, we identify and throw the bad apples and not the entire basket, right?

Also, bringing in more unskilled labor helps me having same level of conversation with them instead of feeling left out.

Prof: Yes, O11 visa helps us bring best and brightest like models etc. They help this economy by luring us to consume expensive designs and to talk about them during lunch hour. As letter *O* looks like zero - I would like to return it back to ones who gave it to us.
Journalist B: Have you ever thought of grooming more students from here under your able guidance. That's the real solution to this. May be we all should focus on STEM education for some time than speaking about idols and proms. May be a geek should deserve the same attention in school like a football player.

Another handy use of Break Apart is to break apart a .jpg or gif file. This does a kinda conversion on it, to make it seem as if it had been drawn with fills in Flash.
Sometimes the quality is reduced, sometimes isn't. Really it depends on the complexity of the photo. But it can also help to reduce your file size. :)

Can people share their experience with same day counter passport collection from the vfs courier center at Chennai.
Reason I ask is, I and my wife have a 9AM appointment on 14th August. And Aug 15th being a holiday on account of India's Independence Day. Since we have to be in US on the 16th August to file for I485, getting the visa on the 16th would be too late. Therefore, it's critical that we collect the passport the same day.
Is anyone else in a similar situation? Should I inform the consular of our same night travel plans or is that ill-advised?

Same day passport collection - you gotta be lucky to get it on the same day.
Passports arrive at VFS in batches every 2 hours or so, in general, you get it the next day, you maybe lucky and get it the same day.
You have to wait from 2 to 4 pm at VFS office for passports to arrive in Alwarpet.

Same day passport collection - you gotta be lucky to get it on the same day.
