I've got a question for you guys. Any of you Mac users that also run Windows on a box somewhere:

Are any of you really going to upgrade to Vista when it comes out? or are you going to wait at least a year?

I refuse to spend another dime @ Micro$oft.

Sorry, refuse to see what ? You posted a TechCrunch article which refuted itself. You did not post an engadget story. What am I refusing to see exactly ? I'm reading the links you supplied. Supply links that at least support your position next time, and I won't "refuse to see it" like you say.

Next, your Engadget article was refuted. Hardly justification to propose as fact that apple "envisionned" anything as far as Thunderbolt goes.

I'm not questioning that they played a role, be it major or minor, I'm questioning the importance Chuppa is giving Apple which his choice of "envision". All history of TB points to the contrary. Your engadget article is the first to say that Apple envisionned it and it was quickly refuted.

    So again : Citation Needed.

    Cool it down.

It is possible that Apple 'dictated'. It is possible that intel did it on their own. No one has a concrete answer to this. So it's better to let it go.

$70 for a mouse? Give me a break.

I just bought a two button scrollwheel mouse for $1.67. There's no reason for it to cost more than that. $10 is too much.

^You've really captured the atmosphere, and the leading lines work great with the dog's pose looking down the platform - well done.

Wow, that is absolutely stunning and beautiful shot. Looks fanastic:D

Stunning. Did you use a graduated ND filter on the sky ?

Thanks! Yes I used a ND grad to darken the sky and a ND8 filter to buy more exposure time.

I always wonder why people decide to respond to the post below mine which says the same thing but with less proof...

Above I said the same thing with a specific example. It's not as fun to argue with someone who makes a good argument though, is it?

Great you posted some blog with an interesting interpretation of potential issues with the contract. Do you have any evidence that this policy has been enforced?

Maybe I'm just picky, but it looks like it might be TOO thin! Like I preferred the 3rd gen iPod touches because they seemed to be the best thickness, the 4th gen took it too far and having the volume and lock buttons on the curve felt weird and not as nice :/

I'll still buy it though lol.

Share price is all that matters :D

Well, yes and no. If I'd have paid attention to the technical analysts on AAPL I either (1) would not have bought in, or (2) have sold years ago. In over ten years of holding AAPL it would never have been the right move to sell, though I'm sure the chart gurus would have told me it was, many times.

Chartists come to absurd conclusions, such as AAPL having support at 60. This means a trailing P/E based on current earnings (without growth) of around 15. At 40, we're talking a P/E of ten. This assumes that AAPL's growth days are over, as of now. Does anything we know about the company, including its historical growth and product offerings comport with the idea of Apple turning into Dow Chemical? I don't think so.

So yes and no. Share price matters, but charts can't tell the entire story.

Also, the first MBA didn't have it, and they introduced it in the B revision. So they have been able to squeeze it in before where they weren't initially.

It would be a nice selling point for the upgraded model (as opposed to the base model), same as they did with the PowerBook for a while.

Not True. The first MBA DID have it.

    This ... from ZDNet:

"The worst part about the backlight’s omission is that the original MacBook Air (circa 2008) had a keyboard backlight. Obviously, there’s no technical reason that it couldn’t be done, so why did Apple drop it from the 2010 MBA?

It can’t be a price issue. How much does a keyboard backlight LED cost in Apple quantities? A dollar? You can’t make the case for battery life either, because it’s easily turned off in System Preferences.

So why did Apple really drop the keyboard backlight in the new MBA? Planned obsolescence, my friend. How much do you want to bet that the 2011 model has a keyboard backlight?"

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. From what the victim said, the attackers used a standard "excuse" to start a fight. ("Why are you talking to my man?", if I understood correctly.)

That's not what the McDonalds employee seemed to suggest (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12452442&postcount=41).

Fact is apple Does not like to play by the rules. They want to have their products run on different accessories and what not. Apple does not believe in some of the other common things such as Blu-ray. Will piss you off when the standard wall mounts do fit and you have to buy the apple ones that cost 55% more. Basically Apple will not want to play with the other manufacturers not be the ones with universal remote codes. Be the company that doesn't place HDMI out on the TV because they don't believe 7.1 surround sound is worth anything.

    Stop being a fool.

The Mac Mini has HDMI out. Why on Earth would Apple not include HDMI on a television? Also, my Harmony remote has no problem mimicking the AppleTV remote.

In my opinion, I think that at&t should focus on spreading their 3g network to cities like the one that I live in, where there are at least 100,000 people residing in, rather than putting towers up on every street corner in NYC. It pisses me off that we pay the same price for phone service, yet we cant even take advantage of the 3g speeds. NYC has had 3g service for 5 years, yet we don't even have reliable EDGE service.

It was a video released on 4/8/2011.
I cant link it since CNET doesnt actually show URL for videos.
Go to Cnet, Videos, Apple Byte, and it will be the second video on the list.

Yea, I have been corrected in that, but the argument on GPU still stands.

Awesome, thanks! Again, really hoping for the June release. I posted before that in my biased opinion, I think it makes a lot of sense to get a new Air in time for the college discount program (i reckon the college demographic is aware of Intel's core duo vs i5 / i7 marketing) especially since i'd imagine the the Air has much higher margins than MBPs.

Regarding the graphics capabilities, you can't use the Samsung as a benchmark because of how differently OSX and Windows behave. I'd be really surprised if Apple didn't have some sort of trick, either hardware, or drivers to beat the current graphics capability at least on paper or some obscure benchmark. Even if they didn't, the amount of time you'd benefit from a better GPU over better CPU would be miniscule in almost all tasks like iLife programs, 99% of applications and even Photoshop (despite being gpu accelerated). If you are playing games... i might be able to see the argument.

Though personally if I were really into games or encoding stuff with badda boom or cuda or something I wouldn't be interested in an Air. I know a lot of people still are it seems from these boards, that's fine, i'm just weighing my personal opinion on the matter and would MUCH prefer better CPU.

I really think AT&T cannot make it better.
MMS is not looking that good either. I know many that still cannot use it.
Dropped calls all the time. The alien voice syndrom was always funny, but not anymore.

They are over their heads. Too much to handle.

The only thing that they can do is let apple out of the agreement so other carriers can take some of the load off their hands.

I will stay with AT&T since most everyone I know uses it, but it would be nice to let everyone that came to AT&T to be able to go back to the carrier of their choice.

I also think AT&T should lower the monthly charges. They were suppose to use the extra to upgrade. That didnt happen. Now they are scrambling.
