How bad do I really need this mouse ? I thought it might be a nice addition to my MBP but I have a logitech BT mouse which works fine. Two buttons, a scroll wheel and good battery life. Should I just save my $$$ for the next iPod ?

Yes it is pretty intense. I broke today and bought one off craigslist. Bought white but am really debating about opening it vs. trying to get black, which was the original color i wanted.
I havn't seen the white in person so I can't be 100% sure but it looked like the white Macbook did to me, a yellowish white, didn't seem to go very well with the back and screen, and was quite distracting in videos vs the black.
That being said I know people who absolutely love both the Macbook and the new white iPad2

so i just installed vmware... and ive got to say... its really not up to par with parallels... its sluggish on my MBP 2.0ghz with 2gigs of ram.... and i mean real sluggish... rebooting doesnt seem to want to work.... i do like the interface though but overall, its not that great to work with compare to parallels.... i do realize that this is a private beta but even in the beta stage parallels was much better.....
hope that the next build is more promising
also... i didnt see a way to change the amount of ram dedicated to the virtual machine other then by creating a new vm....
I have to agree, the Video Refresh rate is also noticable compared from Parallels. The Mouse is more sluggish and it just doesn't give you the feel that Parallels does.
I didn't notice any difference from running 2 Cores either :(
It is only a Beta right now so maybe they will have everything up to par soon enough. :)

Hmm, I used to spend a lot of time waiting for Apple products to come out by checking the MacRumors buyers guides etc. Then I was stung when I got it all wrong and bought an iBook just before they were updated, despite trying really hard for that not to happen!
My conclusion, don't listen to vague rumours and wait around for ages! Buy if you want it now, unless there's almost certain evidence that an upgrade is imminent :-)

I think there is a hole in this argument/dream. Apple has spent considerable time and marketing money in the Made for iPod campaign that centers arounds the dock connector. They have created the Universal dock and inserts for all recent iPods, promising to keep these updated with all new iPods in the foreseeable future. Therefore, I seriously doubt these new no touch iPods wouldn't have at least a dock connector. .
The new Nike-Apple collaboration shows how Apple could get around this - simply a female dock receptacle, bluetooth (or whatever) configured to replace the physical dock connection. It would work for automobile interfaces, the iPhoto connection etc.
Apple could make a ton of cash "this simple connector - only available from Apple - allows all your iPod accessories to communicate with our new iMonolith iPod"... very 2001:)

What I'd like is the base MacBook to drop to $999 and the base mini to drop to $499. That's what the G4 versions cost before they were replaced by the Intel versions.

Sounds like a "who cares?" kind of thing, but that's actually kind of a big deal if it creates case fragmentation. Not good. Hopefully inaccurate.
I'm sure Apple doesn't care wether or not 3rd party case manufactures have to change their cases because of their iPhone.

They're really shy at first, like any animal. But when they warm up to you they are extremely loving and loyal but they get jealous if there are other animals around that get any attention.
I had one before with an ex and we had him in an apartment, no problem. He was very easy to train and I was extremely impressed by that. They aren't loud by any means and in this case they max out at 12" from the front paws to the back of the head and weigh ~12 lbs.

I bought a second apple TV for my bedroom, instead of buying a new TV, or a blu ray player, or another gizmo etc... so I could watch MLBTV and netflix, and have the ability to download movies occasionally.
I would happily pay for a new apple TV again this year and take the old one and hjook it up to one fo the other 3 televisions my house, if the features and upgrades were worth it to me.
Airplay is amazing.
I'll spend another 700 bucks on a new Ipad in another year or two, and will buy a new Iphone every two years.
I won't spend more than $1500 on a 55 inch television, and I won't even buy one until mine breaks. People buy televisions every 5 to 10 years. Apple isn't getting into the TV business.

Just creates more setup for them, and a headache to run pieces at yet another dimension. my fear is the democrats will try to use this a political gain and that is so very wrong both to the military and for this good event.
It turns a great event into worthless BS. It was just luck of the draw that a Dem was in power when this happen and it was only a matter of time. I already am watching some people try to turn it into political gain and it makes me sick.
Oh, like Bush didn't use 9/11 to get all of what he wanted done? 9/11 was a gift to Bush and he fully used it to full effect. If I were into crazy conspiracies I'd believe the rumor that he knew it was going to happen and did nothing. I mean after all it was a great way of encouraging us to get to Iraq where he really wanted to be (Funny how he quickly shifted his focus to Iraq). And also do stuff like introduce the Patriot Act all in the name of protecting us from the terrorists. Great, who is protecting us from our government and our own stupidity for letting the government do whatever they wanted in the name of protecting us from the terrorists (warrantless wiretapping anyone)? The terrorists won, we did exactly what they were hoping for.
So now I gotta ask, now that we got him do we still have to be in the middle east? I thought that was the whole reason why we were in there in the first place. Secondly, can we get rid of the patriot act now and go back to wiretapping being illegal if you don't have a warrant?
Oh wait, once government gets power over something, good luck taking it away. I just want to slap the Republicans now complaining about the powers given to the government from when they were in power now that the opposition is in power (what, did they expect that the government would only have those powers when the people they liked were in power? I'm thinking the same thing. Can anyone find the appropriate quote from, say, last year's MWSF? I know i've been waiting since then for the exciting new products he promised: intel conversions don't count, nor do new casings and better batteries for iPods. The MacBook counts as a new product and the sales achieved by it could put it into the exciting category. iTV may fit but it's not coming out til next year. So what did Steve promise for 06? And what fits that bill?
We'll lets see, we're looking at significant performance upgrades for the same $$$ as well as a successful transition [lets give Apple credit where credit it due]. Apple may have added about a million new Mac users this quarter [that is a significant number]. I have friends who would NEVER has considered Macs in the past coming to me for advice on their next purchase.
The iTV, and especially the iPhone could be breakout products. I am anxiously anticipating both.

I've been checking the UK store (Higher Ed + Normal) since the announcement, the Wireless Mighty Mouse is still not up there. Are you sure you're not confusing the Mighty Mouse with the wired one? ( The Wired Mighty Mouse is is �31.73 H.E, �35.00 Retail)
