Guys,
If one IV member moves from State A to B, what would be the process of transferring membership to state chapter?
Will it merely be a deleting datbase record from one state and adding it to another state? Or would it be again filling up survey to new state chapter..?

Dont worry, IV is not a bureaucratic government organisation. Simply join the new state chapter and start working with them.

I spoke to my lawyer. She said she was re-sending the app in today with a cover letter explaining the wrongful rejections. She said that if they still reject it, she will go through the liaison and try to get them to accept it. Is this standard procedure?
Secondly, on a different note, I am not sure who did it or why, someone gave me a red dot.

I worked for company A till Jun 2003 on h1 for 3 years. Then i went back to India and switched to company B. Now I'm in US on L1 thru company B. I'm thinking of switching back to company A in US. But my H1 got expired on June 2004. My question: Is it possible to renew the original H1 processed by company A now and start working for it? Please help.

Hi all,
will appreciate a reply ..I had changed my wifes last name to our married last name (in SSN). her EAD and 485 is in her maiden last name.
will this create an issue when we renew her EAD ? I wanted to renew with our married last name.

Ask your lawyer to inform USCIS about the name change.They will send all supporting documents like marraige certificate, drivers license etc. If you want to change it after getting the green card, you will have to file form I-90 and pay $300 fee.

Quetions to Gurus. I did read in so many forums since long time but did not get a clear understanding around salary.

2) What if the GC is filed 8 years ago and the person is still waiting but got an average of
10% hike every year. Is that a problem?

3) Issuing separate biometrics notices for EAD and I-485 for the same beneficiary.
4) Allowing the beneficiary to work on H1 receipt notice but not on EAD receipt notice.
5) Running multiple background checks for the same beneficiary for different immigration benefits (I-140, EAD, AP, I-485)
6) Issuing RFE for EAD biometrics even after completing biometrics.
7) Issuing RFE for EAD biometrics without issuing biometrics notice.
8) Issuing EAD/AP’s with incorrect name, sex, DOB, photograph and validity dates thereby preventing the beneficiary from working/traveling without any alternative until the correction is made.

It should come with in a week. It all depends on whether you filed your I-485 through attorney or not. For me they send it on 08/29/08. My attorneys informed me on 09/04/2008.

Every lawyer is a businessman. And every businessman has a success story to tell to advertise himself. And you are unknowingly doing viral marketing. Look up on Google what viral marketing it. Has any of these lawyers done viral marketing of IV or greencard backlog action items on their forums and newsletters? So why are you advertising them? You go around town asking lawyers if they did any case successfully Showing a Valid Employer-Employee Relationship. And you will mostly get Yes answer so that they get more business. So why promoting only one lawyer.

USCIS assigns Unique A# for each individual, who files I485 , some people recieves A# even in I140 too.
When your adjustment of status application(I485) approves then you will be registered as Permanent Resident.

My H1-B visa expired on June 16, 2007. Extension (I-129) has been filed in May 2007 (before expiration). It has not been approved yet. It's still pending. My LC has been approved on July 09, 2007 and my PD is April 2004. My question is: Can I file concurrently I-140 and I-485? Will my application be rejected or will an RFE be issued?

It is not a Valid Birth Certificate for USCIS
Just an FYI, I applied my wife's I-485 with the Birth Certificate issued by Indian Embassy in Houston, TX....I went there personally and got it issued the same day...They issue it based on the DOB in your passport...Then later I got her BC done from the local municipality along with affidavits from her parents...I sent them to my attorney and he said he will only send them to USCIS if they send a RFE asking for the same.....He said its of no use to mail them without an RFE as they will lose them.....My PD is EB-3 India Nov 2003, and I haven't received any RFE so far regarding her BC...

I had a similar problem when I applied for my OPT, not once but twice. The one year EAD had a wrong date, the issue date and expiry date was the same. The second time, they didn't give me the correct start date, so I sent it again. No filing fees since it was their mistake.

Do you guys know the Fate of CSC transfred people like us.Will they transfer back to NSC..
