Also wanted to mention that your I-20 will have information on when the OPT was applied (at least that's how it was in my case). I got a new I-20 when I applied for OPT (indicating that it was pending), and then another one when it was approved.
Another point - they generally approve the OPT and issue the EAD within three months. So now you have the month narrowed down to 3 (from the month of your approval).

This is simply called pure selfishness.
The problem he is talking about is not a widespread one and never heard of, other than may be for one or two people in this forum (one may be nk2006; sorry that it happened to you).
Even if it had happened to one or two exceptional cases, it can be rectified as it is a simple error from the part of USCIS. This is not a major thing to waste IV resources. This is not a serious immigration issue.
The way nk2006 misused IV resources for such a simple personal issue is unpardonable .
Knowing that there are such people among 'highly educated' is disheartening.

someone please explain me how complete agreement works. I am working for the client through the main vendor who has a noncompete agreement with my employer (This is signed by my employer, not me). Now I am planning to leave my employer but the client is interested keeping me in the project through another vendor. Can someone explain me if it is possible?

Hello Guys,
I have E-Filed for EAD renew on jne 27th and have sent all the supporting documents the following day. But on Aug 6th recieved an RFE for the photos I haven't sent along with the documents and asked me submit 2 color passport photos. It was my understading that I don't have to send the photos while E-filing since they will be taken at the bio-metric appt. I am done with my bio-metric appt. Do i need to contact USCIS about this or is there any thing you guys can suggest me.

If you ask " Why Am I responsible for low media attention?" My answer is each and every Legal Skilled Immigrant is responsible for this. We are a tribe who do not believe in shouting on the roads. We think this is cheap!
Trust me, this is not being done in any cheap manner. It is not cheap to ask what you deserve. It is not cheap to express one's opinion in a diginified manner not offending anyone. It is not cheap to explain your problems to your lawmaker.
If you think that participating in this rally is cheap and only uneducated would shout on the roads, then come to DC to witness PhDs, MBAs, PMPs, CPAs, Attorneys and some of the brightest and the best minds shout at the top of their voice to fix the broken immigration system.
Sounds unbelievable, come, witness it for yourself on Sept 18th at Washington Monument.

Hello,
The cards and notices for my family did multiple rounds of 'undelivered' mail .... it is quite frustrating as the USPS doesn't fail to deliver any and all junk mail, but doesn't blink twice before sending back the USCIS communication as undeliverable ... wish they were equally prompt with junk mail as well! :rolleyes:
It took about 4-6 weeks to resolve the drama ... didn't open SR, just called the standard USCIS number and changed the address to that of my lawyer ... lawyer received one card, other came to my home address and some notices were sent to an address that I had in 2005!!! Didn't bother with returned notices (welcomes and card production ordered etc) ... have our cards now and have also traveled abroad and returned to US with new cards without any issue...
In short, it is a hit and miss game ... but normally, it all works out fine in the end...

I have never seen anyone asking for an I-94 card to get your wife added to your insurance.If you are an employee going through employers insurance then they have to add you and your family to the insurance coverage without any discrimination . That is as far as I know . Maybe I could be wrong but I am pretty sure about it. You can take her insurance without she being here . I recently changed my coverage this month for myself and my family and its start date was the same day I submitted the forms and not the 1st of next month or something like that.

I am confused stucklabor. I thought that labor decided ur job qualifications etc. I mean when i applied for my I-140 (i did not file concurrently btw). I was asked more info regarding my company and all of the company documents. I wasnt being sarcastic or anything i am just trying to understand what is going on.

In addition, when in my post I said "you" I didn't mean you personally. It was a general "you". And that was an example, not directed at your situation personally since I have no idea about your situation.
In labor cert, the company only advertises for an American for the job that is being proposed to be given to the foreigner. It also does include the foreigner's resume to a certain degree, but in general, the foreign worker's qualifications only get examined at I140. So a labor cert could be filed that is very tailored so that the chances of an American being qualified for the job is 0.01%. Then the foreign worker has to prove that he/she is qualified for the job. I140 also is the stage where USCIS also satisfies itself that the job is a standard job, not a made up job that will exclude most Americans. So all this happens at the 140 stage. Meanwhile, someone who wants to file a 485 can do it concurrently and get EAD and AP. They can even file a second labor cert at their own time and do things the right way. So the possibilities of fraud exist. USCIS has to balance quick processing vs diligent processing.
So anyway, read the report. The report doesn't say anything about mismanagement or corruption at USCIS.

Prepaid taxis at the airport is the best. You dont have to haggle over prices, pay tips or commission or no such nonsense. Fixed rate based on distance. Govt prepaid and Fast track are good. Would suggest Fast track.. decent cars with decent prices.
Fasttrack is even recommended for local travel... reliable call taxi service.
As for hotels, if you are looking at hotels in and around 5 kms of Chennai Central railway station, you can look at areas of Egmore, Kilpauk and Nugambakkam. Aruna Inn in Nugambakkam is a decent 2-3 star. Try to find hotels in these areas and make a researvation thru makemytrip.com or yatra.com

What if a person has active TB and is currently being treated? Doctors are saying it will take 9 months to complete the medication.
Q1. Do we need to wait till 9 months to apply for I140 and 485?
Q2. When will the medical records be opened and monitored? is it when my 485 is being processed or before giving EAD?
Q3. If doctor says we have TB on the form, will i be queried by govt to get it checked again, or will i be rejected?

This doesn't take into consideration any active filings. Eg. ROW countries are always current for EB2 and they can and will apply EB2 140 and 485 together, this goes on through out the year which would consume the visa number. General rule of thumb is ~10000-15000 visas will be available for India /China at the end of last quarter due to horizontal spillover.

Answer: Sure, you can. In fact, that is the advised approach. Do not fall back on EAD unless absolutely necessary.
