Do you have a server to connect to? These are clients. I recommend going with MAMP and MysqlWorkbench as they are the most beginner friendly ones I can think of.

Misleading headline, if it weren't for the question mark. The article seems like an ad for Symantec. The author begins by refuting the "NSFW" assertion but then ends saying that Symantec might offer a good solution.

The iPad is not a tablet PC. You can still pay $2,000 for a tablet PC if you want. The iPad is a tablet yes, but it doesn't run a full blown deskptop OS (I'm not getting into that argument).
My point is, Apple used to offer excellent discounts to students and teachers across all of it's product ranges. It's a shame they're not offering the same with the iPad.
Who cares??? its a $500 device that can replace all computer needs of any student. Period.
I'm tired of hearing this backwater lack of imagination. Every student should have an iPad, and the great news is that most can afford one, even without "discounts".
Anyone ever consider that Apple isn't offering much of discount right now, but will at a later date, probably during back-to-school season a.k.a. once supply is high enough and demand has slowed.
Thinking more than 4 feet ahead is always good.

When Apple aired those Intel ads of the Intel fab plant talking about dull PCs, a lot of PC users got angry over that. There was quite a backlash against Apple when they do negative advertising like that, simply making PC users look stupid (which they are of course ;)). It harkens back to the days, post-1984 ad, when they shown PC users as lemmings walking off a cliff. Hehe. :)

This is not surprising. All the Chinese resellers who were buying iPads in NYC are unlikely to buy the Verizon CDMA, because it cannot be used abroad. The GSM version (i.e. the ATT version) is one that can be used in most places abroad, as long as the iPad is unlocked.
What about all the white resellers?
Oh you'd never know who those were, would you? I guess it's probably just best to assume that every asian in the line is there to buy one that would otherwise be used by a toe-headed little white boy, while every white/black in line is just trying to show his support for his favorite company.

For the first time, pretty much ever, I am genuinely disappointed in my nation.
You have no idea how much you're about to be disappointed.
I challenge both points, pedantically and pragmatically. Canada is no more a "democracy" than the US, though perhaps slightly less messed up. If it was, you would not be able to brazenly put forth the second assertion. In a real democracy, there are no winners. Debate results in compromise. Compromise leaves everyone disappointed but (usually) sanguine, because those other guys are also comparably disappointed.
The idea that we should have winners and losers is one of the biggest problems facing the US political system. The rollercoaster ride has been pushing the whole country apart from the inside. Failure is inevitable.
Yep- because any government should exist to benefit all it's people, not just one group over another. Sad to see this sickness infesting Canada too.

Ever served in the Military?
That has nothing to do with the hundreds of billions we dump on weapons that don't even get used.

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I want to buy this!!!! But alas I cannot afford it at present, well it depends on if I get a 3DS next weekend or not. But having used the demo of Outlook I love it, much better then Mail IMO.
If anyone knows of a cheaper price then around 160 in the UK let me know cause that's the best I've found.

3DS game prices are the same as DS prices in the UK. 29. I imagine they'll drop to 25 in some shops after the launch period.
Surprised to see the console price plummet so much on Amazon too. 185! Cheaper than a PSP Go. I must say it's tempting but yeah, unless anything changes with the launch lineup I'll just wait till Zelda hits.
Ocarina of Time also has the Master Quest too, so, w00t!

I was maybe 300 in a line of 500+ at Willow Bend Mall. Waited 5 hours, got to spot 50 from the door, and they ran out.
The sad thing was the lack of information being provided by Apple to us waiting in line. There were maybe 150 in line still when they clearly ran out. The line sat unmoving for about 45 minutes when news was finally announced that they ran out. I don't understand why they had us stand there for 45 minutes to tell us they were sold out?
During past launches, Apple passed out free water, or took inventory counts against the people waiting in line. This time nothing from Apple but a bunch of Apple employees that had no idea how much inventory they had until they were all out.
I don't know why they didn't allow pre-reservations, either, this time around.
So this launch, in my opinion, was a little wild and disorganized compared to launches of days past.

I loved that ad. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) talking about Apple computers. How much better can it get?
By the way, 24 is the most addicting show I've ever watched.

The Mac Guides are a great resource for the website, however I think the categories of articles on the site aren't particularly great which makes finding information difficult.
I'd like to try and improve it, but part of the problem is the front page, which I can't edit and there should be a consensus on something that major.
There a some categories that contain very little good content, for example the "Companies" category. There are some which are fairly meaningless like the "Guides" category. And there are some which seem a little wishy-washy like the "Digital Lifestyle" category, what should go in there? I think the following categories on the front page would be good.
Main Categories
Mac Hardware - Apples Mac hardware and related articles such as the ones for RAM and upgrades. Subcategories for laptops, desktops, and possibly individual models.
Mac Software - Any software available for Mac OS X. Subcategories for Mac OS X, individual software titles and Programming.
iTunes - Anything related to iTunes for Mac or Windows.
iPod/Apple TV - Anything iPod or AppleTV (which is essentially an iPod that doesn't move :p) related.
iPhone/iPod Touch - Anything iPhone, or iPod Touch related. Subcategories for jailbreaking and individual software titles.
Gaming - The gaming articles are very popular (http://guides.macrumors.com/Special:Popularpages), and that Mac isn't always the best platform for gaming, so I think it should have its own category, including articles for connecting your console to your Mac. With subsections for iPod Game titles, Mac Game titles.
Networking and Internet - Internet Related Articles. Subcategory for Software titles.
People and Organisations - Any articles for companies and analysts and Apple CEO's.
Special Categories
MacRumors.com - Same as now.
Forum Posts - Same as now, but this should be a special category.
Uncategorised - Anything that doesn't fit in the above categories. Could possibly be renamed "Miscellaneous" or something.
Finally a link to the Help:Contents article from the front page would be useful.
Any thoughts? Anything major I've missed?

ぅ? あなたもパソコンですよね。 - Eh? You're also a PC.
うん、でも皆Macと呼んでるね。 - Yeah, but everybody calls me Mac.
何かあなたと区別じゃないですか、友達みたいで。 - Is there anything to distinguish you from your friends? (Other computers)
皆家で僕をPrivateに使うから親しみやすのかな。 - Everyone can use me privately in their home, so I'm very friendly.
なるほど、私ビジネスくらい関係ばかりですから何か特別呼びなら欲しいです。 I see, since I do pretty much all business stuff, is there a name for me?
仕事での付き合いがMainなら、ワークってどうかな。 Your association is mainly with work, how about we call you "Work."

Note it may be worth deleting http://guides.macrumors.com/index.php?title=Category:Terminal_and_CLI&redirect=no and http://guides.macrumors.com/index.php?title=Category:iPod_and_AppleTV&redirect=no
As http://guides.macrumors.com/List_of_Applications_Not_Compatible_with_Leopard is marked for deletion it isn't getting a new category.
