In an article about Pegatron's net losses for the first quarter of DigiTimes reveals (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20110427PD217.html) that the iPhone 4 manufacturer is said to be lowering their production of CDMA (Verizon-compatible) iPhone 4s in 2011 from the originally expected 10 million units down to only 5 million units. Meanwhile, Pegatron originally expected to ship 10 million CDMA iPhone 4s in but sources from upstream component makers pointed out that Apple's orders already saw a significant reduction and the volume is estimated to drop to only five million units.CDMA refers to the radio technology used by Verizon for their mobile phones. The CDMA iPhone (aka Verizon iPhone) was launched in February of this year and saw 2.2 million activations (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/21/verizon-activates-2-2-million-iphones-in-q1-2011) in the partial first quarter of its launch. That would work--when I get a MBP (D2C). My current 'book has S video and 1/8" audio out, which was fine three years ago. I currently run component from my HD sat receiver to the plasma, optical to my HT system and HDMI from the HT to the plasma. I like Multimedia's idea of using an EyeTV DVR and a Mac Mini I have sitting in the play room. I've got DVR on my standard sets upstairs and it's quite addicting.

My wife and I were just talking about upgrading the HD receiver to a DVR but for the same price I can own the EyeTV DVR and use my Mac Mini with it.Well I guess you should check your luck with a Terk TV5 off air antennae direct connect to your Digital TV tuner to confirm you can receive decent HDTV Broadcast signals before buying the EyeTV 500.

I just DL'd the demo for Earth Worm Jim and it is awesome. I just wanted to give people a heads up that this was released in case anyone loved this game years ago. It has 4 player co-op but I'm not sure how it works.

I've just installed Windows XP on my late-2010 MBP. I've also installed the drivers via the Mac OS X Installation disc.
After installing the drivers, my trackpad functions started working. For example, right-clicking (i.e., two-finger click) and scrolling (i.e., two-finger drag) work well. This wasn't the case before installing the drivers.
But I am missing one function in Windows that is present in OS X:
In OS X, I would often drag a file from one corner of the screen to the other. I could do this in 2 ways: (1) click-and-hold the file using one-finger, and then, with the same finger, drag the file. However, by this method, I usually am not able to drag the file all the way across in one swoop, so I must let go and try again. Option 2 works better. (2) click-and-hold the file using one-finger, and then, with a second finger, drag the file (while still holding down with the 1st finger). I still get the problem of not being able to drag a file across the screen in one swoop, but in this case, I don't have to let go of the trackpad entirely and restart. I can simply let go of the 2nd finger, and start over (all the while, I never let go of the 1st finger). This method gives me a lot of precision and versatility in dragging files or dragging a selection across long distances.
The problem is that this isn't working in Windows XP (referring to option 2 in the above examples). As soon as I introduce the 2nd finger onto the trackpad, the computer thinks I'm trying to perform a right-click rather than a drag. It's very annoying because I often find myself trying to perform selections of great length, but can't.

Well Amazon started selling Beatles CDs for 7.99 each right after iTunes got the Beatles Catalogue. Pretty much below cost but a lost leader for them.
I don't see why Apple would care. They get paid by the retailer.
It cheapens their product and pisses of their retailers.

No but as stated before, if a chain is undercutting others then the manufacturer can choose not to sell to that retailer.

4.3 and 4.3.1 has been a disaster. The animations are so choppy it makes it almost androidesque. I hope they actually fix it this time rather than just patching a jailbreak. I wish I could go back to 4.2.1 where the phone was actually stable and smooth.

Can we please stop calling it a "2G" Shuffle now? That is the single stupidest naming convention I have ever seen, and will continue to cause confusion well into the future. Even "G2" and up is better now, thanks to the demise of the PowerPC.

If I get the new iPod Shuffle 2G with old headphones, i'm sending it right back. That is one of the reasons I bought the Shuffle. Instead of spending $29 for some headphones I spent $50 dollars more and got a shuffle...:(
