I was kind of hoping they'd actually compare with Windows PCs that were, you know, comparable.
Like HP Envy against the MBP, or Sony VIAO Z or Samsung Series 9 against the MBA.
I guess they realized that if they actually do a fair comparison, you won't have enough money left over to go to Hawaii. You might even spend a bit more on the PC.
So instead they compare the MBA against Atom netbooks. "Look, 1.6 is more than 1.4, therefore the Atom chip is better than the Core 2 Duo!"

If the resolution stays the same, and it probably will, then no big deal. Even if it changes, most apps dynamically lay out their user interface and will just work. Apps already need to deal with 2 resolutions (3 if you count iPad).
The user interface guidelines for web apps recommends using the system screen size variables instead of hard coding numbers, so most web apps should just work.

Anyone who knows anything about IT knows that "Windows" is not "broken". It's just extremely "breakable". :p The fact that a million ppl try to write viruses to steal money from the million banks that use it and have a billion customers that use it doesn't help either. But that's where professional security IT comes in. Not even a Mac is "immune" to this, so pro Mac IT should use security too.
The reason why carreers are made on "maintaining Windows" is because it's POWERFUL. Why would a group of engineers, developers, and MBA's constanty buy an OS that is > 3x more costly than a Mac OS...just up front? And require numerous certifications beyond a "CS degree" to upkeep? And this is just the "desktop" version, never mind the server version which is the leader in the server industry. No...it's NOT u/linix sorry...because "web page servers" are not the only computers in data centers!
The only "entire industry who grew up to uptake Windows" is the average person who tried to copy what they used for work...and in some cases, the software packages from "IT friends". They may be stuck with something they can't handle if they aren't careful about downloading porn, but it still doesn't change the fact that Windows is much more powerful and hence requires much more "computer-savviness" to use on average.

Im tryin to print some episodes to tape and runnin into some issues. I have been doing this with no problem for a couple years now but no more...My setup to give you an idea is Firewire out of my mac into my tapedeck and a/v out of my tapedeck into a monitor just to make sure everything is ok. When i play my video it usually has a straight stream to my monitor through the tapedeck but what its doing now is just playing the audio and showing the first frame of the video and nothing else till i stop the video, then it changes the first frame to the last frame i stopped the video on. When I try to print to tape it will record the audio and just the frame that the playhead was on when I hit record. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem before, its kinda strange. I have restarted FCP, refresed the A/V devices checked my settings and not sure whats goin on. There is a connection because it brings the picture and audio in, it just wont stream the video to my tape deck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

yeah, my best friend actually has an M11x R2. I love it, but still, at how compact the 11" Air is, I'm surprised it can max out Portal 2 easily.
Just got Portal (1) for free (OEM Alienware Gift or something like that) and it does run well on both my AW and my Air.
If replacement SSD prices dropped, this would replace my alienware as my on-the-go machine.
This thing surprises me to no end. MW2 at 20~30fps is nothing to scoff at, especially since it only has an ULV C2D and an IGP.
Only thing I miss is the bl kb.

:D got mine! It's MUCH better than I was expecting, but the auto-stereoscopy does my head in after only a few minutes :( It's really, really impressive though, you have to see it in person!

Works perfectly for me (using Air Video and the latest beta server) since 4.3 came out.
hmmmm mine has never worked. the audio always works but i can never see the video part. pictures also work as well.

I'm ashamed I work for them. I've always considered Target the "good guys" Wal-mart but the more I get a taste for their corporate side (retail as well as pharmacy) I'm less impressed day by day.

I worked at that hellhole for 3 and a half years and it went towards the crapper with each passing day. I went on leave of absence for school, but didn't come back over the summer due to me having an internship elsewhere, and they sent me a letter telling me to either quit or come back, so I said goodbye.
Their business practices, while better than Wal-Mart, are nothing to be proud about either. Maybe if they spent more time improving the shopping experience and less time high pressuring customers, err, guests, for those god damn target visa cards, loss of DVD sales wouldn't be a problem
