The MS products have more functionality for sure ... question is if really everyone needs everything from that functionality. For most home users and even some business users iWorks does everything they need and is therefore a cheaper option that does the trick. Many business customers (and few home users) need stuff that iWork does not offer, but MS Office does.
Bottom line: depends on your use case -> bold statements like Product A is better then B are rarely true since it usually depends on many things.
Thanks for stating the obvious but why would one NOT chose something that is 100% doc and docx compatible with all the Windows counterparts?
If you need to compose a grocery list or a flier for your next garage sale then iWurk is for you I guess but for the rest of us that actually need to collaborate with other people in the real world, no thanks.

Here's the gist of the problem: too generous state worker union pensions. I wouldn't be surprised that these pensions are extensively re-done to drastically cut its cost in order to reduce state budget deficits.
Really? Union pensions are the sole cause of states with financial problems?
So do you have any theories about why states without unions are having the same financial problems? Are these union pensions somehow crossing state lines into South Carolina and causing our budget shortfall?
And do you think that unions haven't already offered a cut in pensions and/or numerous other concessions?

G4 is actually one of three channels I watch. Get back FOX and add NBC and I'll be interested. Until then, how's Hulu Plus doing? Why hasn't anyone mentioned it yet?

I really hope T-Mobile isn't chosen...I had them for a year and a half and what horrible customer service. Not to mention that their coverage in Palm Springs, CA is horrible. Apple should go with Verizon, I did go with AT&T myself, but Verizon is rated highest of all the carriers for customer satisfaction and coverage.
I've been with T-mobile since the 1st sidekick and am still with them because of their customer service. They have the best CS IMO

They don't really need a reason besides pretty much every consumer camera using SD media these days.
Was it really that long ago? Time flies, eh? Anyway.... They could have added it to the Mini back then quietly and without redesigning the whole case, similar to the way that the 5th USB port was added, if it was to satisfy photographers.
And they didn't need to immediately go to the top end SDXC.... most consumer cameras aren't using those cards yet. Once the low or middle speed SD card reader was added, it would have been easy to upgrade it to the top end SD card reader in a few years when those cards were more widely used. This would have been more in line of Apple's philosophy of increasing specs and features and keeping prices down. i.e. Today's new Mini has plain SD card reader, and in a year they "add" the faster reader to make a "new" new Mini.
I think there is something more to this... we'll just have to stay tuned, eh?

License for $4?
Apple should license it for *free*.
They pretty much will. They do it w/ Airplay audio. $4 is only to cover extra cost of overhead needed to provide it to OEM's. No profit being made.

Here is a nice place to start (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2493) to learn about this. There are apps available (not free IIRC) that will allow for quite a bit of customization. But all (edit: well, not all, but a lot) of it can be done for free with enough research and time.
Have fun! I spent hours upon hours playing around with this when I first switched from Windows to Mac. :)

When you see a picture of a lens, on an invitation, where would anyone
even begin to draw a conclusion that the updates for the MBP would be
forthcoming at this event. People want things so bad they set up their own
personal mirage at anything Apple says or does.
They will update. Apple knows what they are doing. And I suspect that they
won't be to upset when one or two people on here decide to go to a PC because
of a chip. I don't care if my computer was 1/2 the speed of a PC, I wouldn't
use Windows over OS X anytime.
Good luck to all you wishers and dreamers. One day you will get what you want.

seriously just shut ur pretty faces with the tired backlit keyboard anthem.
Bit rude don't you think?
this is like the least desirable feature
In your opinion.
esp since it has a direct impact on battery life.
Not on my Pro or VAIO Z.
so simple really:
-more power
-longer battery life
-IPS display
-less weight
-runs cool
the new x220 does the mba better in three items above today for a fact. time for apple to step it up again.
Fair enough.

Well. It was nice, for once, to see the Democrats win the bulk of the outstanding issues.
Of course, just around the corner are potentially even bigger arguments about the debt limit and the next budget.
I can't wait.

wonder if this is why direcTV never came out with this functionality. Generally they are ahead of the curve (TWC) with comes to actually providing value for the customers, to some degree.

Does the mac mini support sd card peripherals (modems etc.)? I believe the capability is included in the sdxc spec.
Mac OS X has to support it, not the Mac mini.

10.4.9.1
Nup, guess you missed the InvisiText
10.4.9.1 implies it's a new version of 10.4.9, if it's a brand new build it'll be 10.4.10 and if anybody wants to argue....
POW!! Right to the moon!!
